Quickshot camera app takes your iphone photos straight to your dropbox folder

If you upload a lot of photos from your iPhone to Dropbox, you know it’s kind of a pain. Opening the Dropbox app and then individually transferring each photo , and there’s no batch photo select option available. Quickshot with Dropbox for iOS offers a way to get the job done, though.
With Quickshot, you just select a photos folder in your Dropbox and start shooting. Your photos will be uploaded automatically. You don’t even have to save the shots to your phone’s camera roll if you don’t want to.
Quickshot doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles as a camera, but if you prefer to shoot with a fancier app — or use the iPhone’s built-in Camera app for HDR — you can still use Quickshot to select and batch-upload photos from your camera roll. Nice!
In the latest version, Quickshot added iPad 2 support and the ability to remove location tags from your photos before they’re uploaded.
By the way, Quickshot is not to be confused with another, unrelated app called “Quick Shot – All in One Camera,” so be careful if you’re searching for it in the app store.

How to Update to iOS 4.3 Beta without Apple Developer Account

January 19, 2011 Leave a comment

We have just read about this method floating around the web which can apparently allow you to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 4.3 beta without having to have UDID of your iOS device registered on a developer account.

iOS 4.3 UnlockInstructions are as follows:-

Quick Guide on how to "hacktivate" iOS 4.3 without a developer account.

1. Method
1) Install iOS 4.3
2) "Jailbreak" with redsn0w 0.9.6rc8, you should see a white block in de upper left corner from your iPhone, reboot it
3) get iFunBox
4) navigate to "Raw File System" -> /System/Library/CoreServices
5) open SystemVersion.plist and remove the following lines:
6) Reboot the iPhone
7) Activate your iPhone with iTunes

2. Method (thx to joshingknight)
1) Restore to 4.2.1
2) Shift-Update and point the 4.3 IPSW. here’s important that you Shift-Update, not Shift-Restore!
If you want File System Access just jailbreak it like you were on 4.2.1 and reboot your iDevice when it’s stuck on a black screen, then you have FS Access with tools like iFunBox, but Cydia won’t work
Congrats your iPhone is activated now =)

Greetings from Switzerland..

NOTE: These methods have not been tested.

The two methods posted above are for information purposes only.

We highly recommend you to get enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program to have complete access to all current and future iOS Beta releases.

(Thanks, Adrian Pulido)

Apple to announce iPad 2 on February 1:Reports

January 9, 2011 2 comments

Founder of Digg, Kevin Rose, has reported about the next-generation iPad. A source close to him who has “good authority” says that the iPad 2 will be announced in the next 3 to 4 weeks, possibly on February  1st, and that it will feature higher DPI display and front/back cameras.

From: Kevin Rose (Foundation Newsletter)

I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next "3-4 weeks", possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras.
If you’re thinking of buying an iPad, hold off for now.

UPDATE: Spoke w/another source, the display has a "higher dpi", but not technically a retina display. This seems odd to me, we’ll have to wait and see.

iPhone alarms bring a bug with New Year 2011.

We’re not exactly sure of the cause of this issue affecting Apple’s super cool iPhone line of cellphones, but apparently you’ve got trouble on  1/1/2011. According to an explosive stream of frustration-filled tweets on Twitter, the most happening social-networking site of many countries, when the clock strikes midnight, one off alarms will cease to sing out. The issue sounds similar to recent Daylight Savings Time trouble we witnessed back in November, although we saw both repeating alarm and single alarm failures.

So how can you fix this potentially life-ruining problem? Well until Apple patches its OS — and it’s currently unclear if this is just iOS 4.2.1 or earlier versions as well — you can simply create a recurring alarm at the time you need to be woken up, and then disable it once your dreams are completely ruined…..Happy New Year?
